This year's November Annual School Election will be held November 7, 2017. The deadline for candidates to submit their nominating petition to the county clerk is 4 p.m. July 31, 2017.

This year's theme is "In my Public School we use Creative Solutions." The winning posters will be made into a calendar and note card set that will be distributed all over Morris County. Winners will be presented with their framed artwork at the Mall Project opening Ceremony on Monday April 24th. Please see Ms. Rigby for more details.

On Tuesday evening, voters approved two referendum projects on the ballot.
The YMCA is offering a special pricing opportunity, which includes bus transportation, for Borough students in grades 6-8 to participate in after school programs at the new Y Zone Center

The application and procedures for the school choice program for the 2017-2018 school year are now listed in the School Choice channel at the top of the district web page. There is one kindergarten choice seat available for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested, please check the procedures and timelines listed under the school choice channel.

Work on the security vestibules at both Mountain Way and Borough School are scheduled to begin over the summer.

Congratulations Mrs. Lion-Bailey! Mrs. Lion-Bailey has been selected as a future Google Certified Innovator, the highest honor in regard to Google for Education. After passing a series of Google exams, completing a rigorous application process, and creating a video highlighting her vision for 21st century learning, Mrs. Lion-Bailey will be attending the Google Certified Innovator Academy in Mountain View, California in February 2016. While at the academy, she will have the privilege of learning with and from a cohort of fellow educators about maximizing 21st century learning in education today. Morris Plains is fortunate to have two, Mr. Kramar and Mrs. Lion-Bailey.

Every year the Morris Plains Education Association (MPEA) sponsors an essay contest for high school seniors who have graduated from Borough School. Protecting Your Child from Enterovirus D-68 Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is a respiratory illness in children which has spread rapidly across the country. A case of EV-D68 recently was confirmed in Morris County. Not all respiratory viruses occurring at this time are caused by EV-D68. The early symptoms of this virus are similar to those of other respiratory illnesses, including the common cold. As is the case with most viruses, there are some simple steps that schools and families can take to help to prevent the spread of this illness and protect the health of all our children.
The Community of Caring gathered together on September 11, 2014 for a Remembrance Ceremony at the 911 Memorial. We were proud to have our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students attend and participate in this touching ceremony. Please click on the headline to view photos taken at this event.
