My education began at Ramapo College, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Sociology, as well as obtained my teaching degree in 2002. In 2006, I gained my Master's Degree in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. I obtained a certificate after completing courses on working with students that have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). For the first 16 years in education, I taught both 3rd and 4th grade. I served as the 4th grade team leader for four years. This is currently my 17th year in education, but first as a STEAM teacher.
For almost 2 decades, I helped run a science company during summers, as well as on weekends. I have worked with children ages 6-14 in four states. Some classes I ran were in robotics, Legos (motorized and non), chemistry, creative science, rocketry, geology, and many others. In 2003, I attended the National Science Convention in Reno, NV, where I presented to hundreds of educators a science program on Robotics. I also facilitated a robotics club at Borough School for the Enriching Minds program.
On a personal note, I have been married for 10 years to my wonderful husband. I have a kindergartner & 2nd grader attending the Morris Plains school district. Felix and Zoe are my fur babies (cats). In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball, soccer, skydiving, all things Disney, and traveling the world.
